Revolutionizing Retail Investment

As an iOS developer at BUX, I had the distinct honor of leading the foundational team that conceptualized and developed the BUX iOS application. Launched in 2019 as BUX Zero, our mission was ambitious yet clear: to simplify the complexities of financial trading into an engaging, user-friendly mobile interface.
In the ever-evolving landscape of retail investing, BUX has emerged as a pioneering force, redefining the brokerage experience with its innovative, cost-effective platform. Our offerings in stocks, ETFs, and fractional shares have set new benchmarks in the industry.

The journey to create the BUX app was an intensive blend of design and development. My role was pivotal in overcoming the challenges of crafting an interface that could efficiently process and display complex financial data in an approachable manner.
Our focus was unwavering: to provide users with real-time portfolio updates, in-depth historical data, and advanced charting capabilities, while ensuring seamless execution of complex trade orders.

The Investment Plan: I designed an innovative automated monthly savings and investment plan, transforming the landscape of long-term investing. This feature empowers our users to build their portfolios steadily, leveraging the power of regular investments and the benefits of compound interest.
The Newsroom: Anticipating the need for timely and relevant information, I led the creation of a comprehensive newsroom feature within the app. This offers users a tailored flow of investment-related news and a financial calendar, ensuring they remain well-informed and ahead in their investment decisions.
Advanced Charting Functionality (The Charts): Adding to these landmark features, I also developed an advanced charting functionality. This feature, known simply as ‘The Charts’, offers intricate analysis tools, interactive and customizable graphs, and real-time market data visualization. ‘The Charts’ is designed not just for the seasoned investor but also for beginners, offering varying levels of complexity and detail tailored to the user’s expertise.

In each feature, from the Investment Plan to The Newsroom and The Charts, my aim was to intertwine functionality with simplicity. We strived to create a platform that not only catered to the needs of savvy investors but was also welcoming to newcomers in the investing world.
Looking back at the BUX iOS app’s journey, it stands as a testament to our commitment to innovation, user empowerment, and the democratization of the financial market. As we continue to evolve and expand our features, our core mission remains the same: to provide an exceptional and intuitive investing experience to every user.
